FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • This is probably the most asked question, and I completely understand why. The idea of needles near your face can sound intimidating, but let me assure you—it’s not nearly as scary as it seems. Before we start, I apply a medical-grade numbing cream to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as more of a mild scratching or tingling rather than actual pain. Your comfort, safety, and results are my top priorities.

  • If this is your first session, we’ll begin by thoroughly discussing the treatment—how it feels, what to expect during and after, and how to properly care for your skin post-treatment. You’ll also have plenty of time to ask any questions.

To start, I’ll apply a medical-grade numbing cream to the treatment areas for about 30 minutes. Once you’re numb, I’ll thoroughly cleanse your skin and prep it with alcohol. Each area will be addressed individually, using hyaluronic acid (HA)—a naturally occurring substance in the skin responsible for moisture, plumping, and elasticity—to deeply hydrate, calm, and enhance your results. I’ll also adjust the needle depth and speed to suit each area’s specific needs.

The treatment itself takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Before you leave, your skin will be cleansed again, and post-treatment products will be applied to soothe and protect it.

  • The downtime following microneedling is quite minimal. Your skin might appear red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn, for 1–3 days, though many people find this fades within 24–48 hours. You may also experience some dryness or light flaking as your skin begins its renewal process—this is completely normal. Makeup is usually safe to apply after the first 24 hours if needed. For the best results and to avoid irritation, steer clear of direct sun exposure, intense workouts, and harsh skincare products for a few days after your treatment.

  • The number of sessions you need depends on your skin’s unique needs and goals, but for best results, I typically recommend a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. This allows your skin the time it needs to heal and build collagen between sessions, maximizing the benefits of the treatment.

  • You can usually expect to see initial improvements, such as tighter skin and a more even tone, within a week or two after your first microneedling session. For deeper concerns, noticeable changes may take a bit longer, often requiring multiple treatments for optimal results. As microneedling stimulates collagen and elastin production, your skin will keep improving over the following 3–6 months, revealing a smoother and more youthful appearance over time.

  • Microneedling delivers results that can last for months, but it’s important to remember that aging will naturally continue to impact your skin. To maximize and maintain the benefits, a consistent skincare routine is key. Regular touch-up treatments can also help extend your results, keeping your skin firm, smooth, and rejuvenated for as long as possible.

  • Microneedling is a safe and minimally invasive treatment with few side effects, but it’s important to be aware of some potential, usually mild, reactions:

    • Redness and Swelling: You may experience redness and mild swelling for 1–3 days after treatment, similar to a light sunburn.

    • Dryness and Flaking: As your skin begins to renew, some dryness or light peeling may occur but typically resolves within a week.

    • Increased Sensitivity: Your skin might be more sensitive to sunlight and certain products, so using gentle skincare and sunscreen is essential.

    • Minor Bruising: Though rare, minor bruising can sometimes appear, particularly in sensitive areas.

    • Infection Risk: While extremely rare, there is a slight chance of infection if post-treatment care instructions aren’t followed, as microneedling temporarily creates tiny openings in the skin.

Following proper aftercare ensures a smooth recovery and minimizes risks.
